Al arribar al trigésimo aniversario de la sublevación general del 30 de marzo de 1976 que protagonizó el pueblo palestino en defensa de su tierra, la misma que desde hace tres mil años poblaron sus ancestros, la Organización de Solidaridad de los Pueblos de África, Asia y América Latina (OSPAAAL) dedica las primeras palabras de esta declaración política a rendir merecido tributo de recordación a los mártires palestinos de estos casi 60 años de enfrentamiento al ocupante sionista, a los patriotas que sin doblegarse han sufrido toda clase de vejámenes en las cárceles israelíes, a los héroes cotidianos de la resistencia y la Intifada, y a quienes padecen del exilio forzado con el corazón latiendo en Palestina.
La causa directa del levantamiento general que la historia registra como Día de la Tierra Palestina fue la decisión tomada por las autoridades israelíes de arrebatarle 2100 hectáreas de tierra a las aldeas árabes de Galilea Central, en Arraba, Sakhnin y Der Jana, para convertirlas en asentamientos de colonos judíos y de esta forma intentar superar el balance demográfico en territorios donde la población palestina era mayoritaria. La ocupación y militarización arbitrarias de estas aldeas sobrepasó los límites del escándalo, dado que sus dueños palestinos poseían certificados de propiedad emitidos por el propio Departamento de Tierras de Israel, paradoja histórica sólo fundamentada en la inequidad y la injusticia.
El estallido popular del 30 de marzo de 1976 encontró como contrapartida la ilegalidad y crueldad de los acontecimientos que siguieron. La monstruosa injusticia que se comete de forma sistemática por el poderoso ejército israelí contra nuestros hermanos palestinos constituye un verdadero genocidio. Abarca el asesinato selectivo de sus líderes, las masacres contra civiles inocentes, la impune utilización de la tortura, de la cual no escapan siquiera los niños, la construcción del muro del apartheid y la ignominia que refuerza el saqueo y la bantustanización de su territorio, la continua política de despojo y la colonización que ha confinado al pueblo palestino a vivir en sólo el 18 % de su territorio histórico. Todo ello bajo la grosera impunidad que le confieren la complicidad y el apoyo financiero, militar y tecnológico de los Estados Unidos, país que incluso fue el principal sostén para la conversión de Israel en potencia nuclear.
La más reciente y descarada manifestación de burla y desprecio por los derechos nacionales palestinos y de la complicidad norteamericana y británica con el gobierno sionista acaba de concretarse en la destrucción de la Muqataa, sede de la Autoridad Nacional Palestina, y de la aledaña Cárcel de Jericó, para proceder al secuestro de Ahmed Saadat, Secretario General del Frente Popular para la Liberación de Palestina y sus compañeros, para quienes reclamamos solidaridad y libertad. Aquellos que con su serpenteo político a veces incluso se atreven a presentarse como supuestos fieles de una inexistente balanza de justicia y respeto a los legítimos derechos del pueblo palestino, descubren con cada nueva acción su compromiso ilimitado con el sionismo y el genocidio que éste lleva a cabo.
La Organización de Solidaridad de los Pueblos de África, Asia y América Latina (OSPAAAL) exige hoy, y lo hará irrenunciablemente hasta la victoria final de esa noble causa, que se respete el legítimo derecho a la constitución del Estado Palestino independiente, con su capital en Jerusalén Oriental, la retirada israelí de todos los territorios árabes ocupados desde 1967, que cese la construcción del muro de ignominia, que se garantice el derecho al retorno de los refugiados, y que se ponga en libertad a todos los presos políticos. Son esas precondiciones inexcusables para poner fin al genocidio que se comete contra el hermano pueblo palestino y para el logro de una paz verdadera en la región del Medio Oriente.

STATEMENT OF THE ORGANIZATION OF SOLIDARITY WITH THE PEOPLES OF AFRICA, ASIA AND LATIN AMERICA (OSPAAAL) ON THE PALESTINIAN DAY OF LAND
On the 30th anniversary of the general uprising of March 30, 1976 staged by the Palestinian people in defense of its land, the same land inhabited by its ancestors during three thousand years, the Organization of Solidarity with the Peoples of Africa, Asia and Latin America (OSPAAAL) dedicates the initial words of this political statement to pay deserved tribute to the memory of the Palestinian martyrs of these almost 60 years of confrontation with the Zionist occupant, to the patriots who, without yielding have endured all sorts of vexations in the Israeli prisons, to the daily heroes of the resistance and the Intifada and to those who suffer compulsory exile with their heart beating in Palestine.
The direct cause of the general uprising that history registers as Day of the Palestine Land was the decision taken by the Israeli authorities of snatching away 2,100 hectares of land to the Arab villages of Central Galilee, in Arraba, Sakhnin and Deer Hana, to become settlements of Jewish colonists and in this way to attempt to c the demographic balance in territories where the Palestinian population had the majority. The arbitrary occupation and militarization of these villages surpassed the limits of scandal, since their Palestinian owners had certificates of property issued by the very Department of Lands of Israel, a historical paradox only based on inequity and injustice.
The popular uprising of March 30, 1976 had its counterpart in the illegality and cruelty of the events that followed it. The monstrous injustice systematically committed by the powerful Israeli army against our Palestinian brothers is a true genocide. It comprises the selective assassination of its leaders, the massacres against innocent civilians, the unpunished use of torture, from which not even children escape, the construction of the apartheid wall and the ignominy reinforced by the pillaging and Bantusian-like division of its territory, the continuous policy of spoliation and colonization that has confined the Palestinian people to live in only 18% of its historical territory. All this under the coarse impunity granted it by the complicity and financial, military and technological support of the United States, the country that was even the pillar for the conversion of Israel into a nuclear power.
The most recent and shameless expression of scorn and despise for the national Palestinian rights and of the U.S. and British conspiracy with the Zionist government has just taken form in the destruction of the Muqataa, headquarters of the National Palestinian Authority, and of the nearby prison of Jericho, to carry out the kidnapping of Ahmed Saadat, General Secretary of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and his comrades, for whom we demand solidarity and freedom. Those who, with their political winding at times do not even dare appear as alleged pointer of a non-existing weighing scale of justice and respect to the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people discover with each new action their unlimited commitment with Zionism and with the genocide it carries out.
The Organization of Solidarity with the Peoples of Africa, Asia and Latin America (OSPAAAL) demands today, and will continue to demand it without ever renouncing to it until the final victory of that noble cause, that the legitimate right to the creation of the independent Palestinian state be respected, with its capital in East Jerusalem, the Israeli retreat from all the Arab territories occupied since 1967, the ceasing of the construction of the wall of ignominy, the granting of guarantees for the comeback of the refugees and the liberation of all political prisoners. Those are the inexcusable pre-conditions to put an end to the genocide being committed against the brother Palestinian people and for the achievement of a true peace in the Middle East region.
