Israel’s Interior minister forbids the secretary general of Abnaa elBalad from going abroad

Israel’s Interior minister Avraham Poraz issued an administrative order, which forbids the secretary general of the Abnaa elBalad movement Muhammad Kana’ane (Abu As’ad) from going abroad during the next six months. The order was given to Comrade Kana’ane at 8:30 am in the first day of the ‘Id elFitr holiday, Tuesday 25.11.03.
The ministry of Interior justified this racist act as required “in order to defend the security of the state”’ relying on the draconian anti-democratic Emergency Law, inherited from British colonialist rule and still enforced by Israeli colonialism even in the 1948 occupied territories to oppress Palestinian political activists.
Two months ago, the same ministry of the Interior issued a decree to prevent Comrade Kana’ane from entering Jordan for one year. This, also, was not the first time that the Israeli authorities limit the freedom of movement of Comrade Kana’ane. For the last four years several military and administrative decrees were issued to limit his movements, preventing him from going to Jordan, Egypt and the United State, as well as total ban to prevent him from entering the 1967 occupied West Bank and Gaza.
Responding to the new decree, Comrade Kana’ane declared that “the Israeli authorities prove their own bankruptcy, their fear from our political and patriotic activities. Our positions are well known as we consistently refuse any betrayal of Palestinian national rights. We stand for a just and comprehensive solution based on the return of the Palestinian refugees and building a democratic state in all of Palestine”.

שר הפנים אוסר על מזכ"ל אבנא אלבלד לנסוע לחו"ל

שר הפנים בממשלת ישראל, אברהם פורז, הוציא צו מנהלי האוסר על מזכ"ל תנועת אבנא אלבלד מחמד כנאענה (אבו אסעד) לצאת את הארץ במשך 6 חדשים. הצו הועבר לכנאענה לביתו בעראבה שבגליל בבוקר יומו הראשון של חג עיד אלפיטר, ה-25.11.03.

שר הפנים מתרץ צעד גזעני ואנטי דמוקרטי זה כנחוץ "למען שמירת בטחון המדינה", תוך שהוא מפעיל את סמכותו מתוקף תקנות ההגנה לשעת חרום הידועות לשמצה, מורשת המנדט הקולוניאליסטי הבריטי. תקנות דרקוניות אלו מאפשרות פעולה שרירותית של השלטון ומונעות כל אפשרות להגנה משפטית נאותה לקרבן, והן משמשות כעת בידי השלטון הקולוניאליסטי הישראלי לדיכוי פעילים פוליטיים פלסטינים משני עברי הקו הירוק.

במשך ארבע השנים האחרונות מתנכלים השלטונות הישראליים לחופש התנועה של מזכ"ל אבנא אלבלד. צווים מנהליים שונים מנעו עד כה מכנאענה נסיעות למצרים, ארצות הברית וירדן. כמו כן נמנעת לחלוטין כניסתו לשטחים הפלסטיניים שנכבשו ב-67', הגדה המערבית ורצועת עזה, בתוקף צו "צבאי". רק לפני חודשיים הוציא שר הפנים צו האוסר על כנאענה כניסה לירדן למשך שנה, ועתה נמנע ממנו כליל לצאת מהארץ.

בתגובה לאיסור החדש אמר החבר כנאענה: "השלטונות הישראליים רק מוכיחים בצעד זה את פשיטת הרגל שלהם. הם מפחדים מפעילותנו הפוליטית ומעמדתנו הפטריוטית. עמדותינו ידועות היטב לכל. אנו מתנגדים לשלילת הזכויות הלאומיות מעמנו הפלסטיני. אנו תומכים בפיתרון צודק וכולל המבוסס על חזרת הפליטים הפלסטינים והקמת מדינה דמוקרטית בכל שטח פלסטין.”
