Ali Zbeidat - a 49 old resident of Sakhnin, married and father of 2 doughters, a Palestinian socialist activist and former political prisoner - was released after 20 days (at 25/4) from the prison on bail and put in house-arrest in his sister's house at the village Makr, about 30 km far from his home in Sakhnin, until the end of the trial!. Ali was arrested on the 5th of April, and is charged in court with responsibility for ALL the Land Day intifada in Sakhnin. The court decided very harsh bail conditions: a very high bail of 15,000 IS - (about 6 months sallary) was paid. He is not aloud to stay in his home, with his wife and doughters. He is prevented from going out of his sister's house, and either his sister or her husband must stay with Ali for every second... The persecution announced that they will appeal against the court's decision, and ask to put Ali in prison again.Mohammad As'ad Kana'ane from Arabeh - a 34 years old, married with 4 children, a leading member of Abnaa elBalad movement and former political prisoner - was arrested on Tuesday (18/4) by a big force of the anti-riot squads. In the process, his left leg was broken, and his right leg was badly hurt. He was taken to interogation and denied medical treatment. On wednesday the police representative lied in court, claiming that X rays examination proves that Mohammad was OK. No such examinations were held. After the police failed to produce the medical papers, the judge release Mohammad on bail and let him go to hospital.
The ministry of internal security announed, lately, that they are preparing charges against 30 of the Land Day demonstrators.
قدمت النيابة، يوم 25/4، لائحة اتهام بحق المناضل السخينين علي زبيدات (49 سنة، متزوج وأب لابنتين) تهمته فيه بكل أحداث انتفاضة يوم الأرض 2000!!!
